Tarik Ship Agents adds new vessel to their fleet

Bonaire 0 3278029 Medium

Tarik Ship Agents has added a new vessel, BONAIRE H 260 to its fleet. This follows on from the acquisition of its sister ship SALONCA RAS H 291 which the company purchased in 2021.

The new vessel will enable Tarik to continue expanding its services from Gibraltar which include bunkering of ships, crew changes and other crew matters, ship repairs, underwater services, anchor handling, storing urea and other chemicals and paint deliveries to ships either at anchor or as Off Port Limit services.
Last year saw almost 10,000 ship calls at Gibraltar and over a third of these were Off Port Limits operations. These two vessels are certified to carry Category 8 Dangerous Cargoes such as Chemicals and Oils and Paints and Gases so the company is able to maximise their use for a wide variety of operations.
Tarik’s Category 8 certificate is particularly important for vessels calling at Gibraltar to pick up urea solution which is used as a reducing agent to react with NOx to reduce the emission of harmful gases. This will assist ship owners and operators in complying with the regulations of IMO’s MARPOL Annex VI. Tarik is the only agent offering this service in the Western Mediterranean ports.
In another development, Tarik is now able and certified to collect goods from Algeciras Port and deliver these to Gibraltar Port for onward delivery to ships calling at Gibraltar. Tarik believes that this is the first time this service has been offered since the closure of the frontier in the 1969. This service has been enabled with official permit from Customs and Port authorities in Gibraltar and Algeciras.
